Job Description

(No On-Call) Tired of 3 AM incident response calls and purely transactional security work?

The Opportunity:

We are partnering with Australia’s largest legal partnership to find a Senior Cyber Security Analyst who is ready to step into a highly influential, internal advisory role. This isn’t just about closing tickets; it’s a newly created mandate to act as the bridge between deep technical operations and executive-level risk.
The Culture & Mission:
This firm is not your typical rigid corporate environment. They boast a highly social, down-to-earth culture right in the heart of the Melbourne CBD. Your mission will be to protect highly sensitive national data by driving their SOC2 transition and continuously uplifting their technology stack, all while maintaining exceptional work-life balance with absolutely no on-call requirements.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Driving hands-on technical uplifts across Microsoft Defender, SIEM/EDR, and PAM platforms.
  • Acting as a primary security advisor on major new business initiatives (e.g., advising on MFA setups for HR platform launches).
  • Managing the firm’s Essential 8 maturity and navigating ISM and ISO 27001 frameworks.
  • Translating complex technical risks into clear, commercial language to gain buy-in from senior legal partners.
  • Overseeing external penetration testing and leading the journey toward SOC2 compliance.

What you’ll bring to the team:

  • Deep, hands-on operational experience with Microsoft security stacks (Defender/Sentinel) and Essential 8 implementation.
  • “Consultant-grade” communication skills—you must be comfortable advising, presenting to, and occasionally pushing back on senior stakeholders.
  • A strong grasp of GRC frameworks (ISM, ISO 27001) with the desire to blend technical execution (80%) with risk advisory (20%).
  • Proven experience working across highly regulated sectors (Government, Health, Finance).

What else is offered:

  • A highly competitive salary of $180,000 + Superannuation.
  • Comprehensive career forecasting sessions to fast-track your progression into Risk & Assurance leadership.
  • Superior work culture and state of the art office facilities, fun and community minded work space, join a company who champions a people first environment
