Principal / Staff Frontend Engineer (Founding Role)

We’ve partnered with a newly formed, heavily backed stealth venture based in Sydney. Founded by proven leaders who have previously scaled a well known business to millions of  global users and billions in revenue, they are currently in stealth and building their core infrastructure.

Their mission is to democratise elite revenue & monetisation infrastructure and intelligence, so that all companies can achieve global maxima revenue growth results, by  shipping monetisation changes 10x faster, at 1/10th of the effort it takes today.  

The Opportunity:
This is a true 0-to-1 build. There is no legacy code, no Jira boards, and no playbooks. You will be handed a blank slate and the absolute autonomy to dictate the architectural stack. We are looking for true founders-at-heart.

You must be capable of designing a system built for extreme scale, but you must possess the scrappy pragmatism to write the “throwaway” MVP code needed to test our earliest hypotheses.

The “Builder” Requirement:
The founding CTO is looking for technical peers. During the interview loop, you will be asked to whiteboard the most complex architectural bottleneck you have personally solved…We need architects who are hands on and love to build.

Tech Stack:
The frontend architecture is built from a completely blank slate, designed for performance, isolation, and security within hostile host environments. 
You’ll be working with TypeScript, React, and Native ES6+ JavaScript.

As a founding engineer, you will co-own the architecture, including the foundational technology choices: languages, service boundaries, data model, infrastructure approach!

Highly Desirable Project Experience:

Embeddable SDK & Widget Engineering: Experience building client-side widgets, elements, or SDKs designed to run inside third-party environments. Experience of Shadow DOM, iframe orchestration, and preventing style/script leakage in hostile host sites
Advanced FE Fundamentals & Security: Native JavaScript/TypeScript mastery, deep understanding of browser rendering performance (DOM/paint cycles, bundle-size budgets), and strong awareness of client-side security boundaries (PCI compliance, tokenisation, and XSS prevention).
Performance & Reliability Craft: Proven experience shipping high-stakes frontend code on revenue-critical paths, with a track record of driving measurable improvements in bundle size and load times, while treating cross-browser compatibility and accessibility as absolute, first-class standards.
