The Opportunity:

As their first dedicated DevOps hire, you’ll have ownership of the cloud infrastructure. Your mission is to create the roadmap, in-still best practices, and build the scalable, secure, and automated platform that will power their future growth.

• Own and Evolve: Take full control of the AWS cloud infrastructure, architecting it for scale and reliability.
• Build from Scratch: Replace fragmented processes with elegant, automated solutions using Terraform and modern CI/CD practices. This is your blueprint to design.
• Lead with Expertise: Act as the ultimate technical authority for all things platform-related, collaborating with and subtly influencing development and offshore teams with your expertise.
• Create the Foundation: This is more than a technical role; you are setting the cultural and technical foundation for the entire DevOps function.
• Mentor and Grow: Lay the groundwork to build and mentor a high-performing team in the future.

About You: The Pragmatic Builder We know the best candidates for this role are likely happy and well-regarded in their current position. The right person will be drawn to the challenge and the opportunity for impact.

• You’re a proven builder. You have demonstrable experience of having built a platform or DevOps function from a low-maturity state before. You can clearly articulate what “good” looks like because you’ve created it yourself.
• You’re a deep hands-on expert in AWS, Terraform, and CI/CD. This is non-negotiable and your primary toolset.
• You have a low ego and high humility. You lead with data and collaboration, not authority. You are comfortable influencing without being overpowering.
• You are pragmatic, not dogmatic. You find elegant, practical solutions to real-world problems and understand the need for incremental improvement.
• You are a natural communicator. You can articulate complex technical ideas to any audience and thrive in a collaborative environment.
